TORONTO – Ford issued five safety recalls Tuesday covering almost 25,000 vehicles in Canada.

Ford is recalling more than 202,000 vehicles in North America to fix fuel leaks, fuel filter issues and air bag issues, among others.

The largest recall covers 134,947 (19,975 in Canada) 2014 Flex and F-150 vehicles to fix a passenger seat sensing issue that could prevent airbags from deploying.

About 38,600 (1,757 in Canada) Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Cars from 2005 to 2011 are being recalled for a second time to fix steering shafts. Improper repairs can cause loss of steering. Dealers will inspect and replace parts if needed.

The automaker is also recalling about 27,600 (2,359 in Canada) 2014 Transit Connect vehicles for potential fuel line leaks.

The smaller recalls are for 92 (three in Canada) 2015 Transit vans for potential fuel filter issues. The other is for 950 (338 in Canada) 2014 F-150 pick-ups for a brake pedal position switch that may be incorrectly adjusted, resulting in a possible brake light delay.
