VANCOUVER – Twenty-year-old Sukhpreet “Jesse” Shergill of Surrey has now been arrested for the death of 22 year old, Mandepaak “Deepak” Chahal of Surrey.
On June 19, Surrey RCMP and BC Ambulance were called to the 13100-block of 65B Avenue in Surrey after a report of a man having been stabbed.

Chahal was transported to hospital, but died of his injuries.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the investigation and arrested and charged Shergill on Oct. 29. He has been charged with one count of manslaughter.
“We would like to extent our condolences once again to Deepak’s family and thank both the Surrey RCMP and the community of Newton for assisting us in this investigation.” said Sgt. Adam MacIntosh of IHIT.
