Shooting in Surrey sends 2 men to hospital

VANCOUVER – Two people are in hospital in Surrey this morning after a shooting.

It is believed the shooting happened at a home in the Cloverdale area, but the victims weren’t found until a short time later.

Crews were first called around 5 a.m. to reports of shots fired at a home in the 17900-block of 40 Avenue. When officers arrived they found evidence of a marijuana grow-op but could not find any victims.

About 20 minutes later two men were spotted in the area of Surrey Memorial Hospital, both suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital in serious condition.

RCMP are still on scene at 137B Street and 96 Avenue in Surrey. 40 Avenue is still closed for an investigation.

Police say these two incidents are still in the early stages of investigation, however, early indications are that they are related. The two male victims, in their 30s, are known to police.

Surrey RCMP’s General Investigations Unit is currently investigating.
