TORONTO – Canadians took to social media Friday to mourn and honour fallen soldier Cpl. Nathan Cirillo as he made his final journey home along the Highway of Heroes.
The procession left Ottawa around 1:30 p.m., escorted by Hamilton Police and members of Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada, among others.
People lined overpasses along Hwy. 401 to pay their respects to the 24-year-old who was shot and killed after a gunman opened fire in the nation’s capital Wednesday.
Here’s a look at some of the reaction and photos from social media as Cpl. Cirillo makes his final journey home.
