Canucks end two-game losing streak, defeat St. Louis Blues 4-1

The Vancouver Canucks won their first game of the year against a team outside of Alberta, defeating the St. Louis Blues 4-1.

Chris Higgins, Nick Bonino, Linden Vey and Jannik Hansen scored goals for the Canucks, who moved to 4-2 on the season.

The Blues are now 2-2-1.

The teams were tied after two periods, with a Chris Higgins goal 41 seconds into the game countered by a powerplay goal by Kevin Shattenkirk in the second.

But the Canucks scored three unanswered goals in the third period, beginning with Nick Bonino’s second goal of the years with 15 minutes to go.

Ryan Miller made 31 saves for the Canucks. Their next game is tomorrow against the Colorado Avalanche.
