TORONTO – Police are investigating after a four-year-old boy was pronounced dead at his parents’ North York home.
Police and paramedics responded to a home in a residential area of Toronto near Leslie Street and Finch Avenue at approximately 2:30 a.m on Monday morning for a medical distress investigation.
The child wasn’t breathing when they arrived and was soon pronounced dead.
Cecilia Frank, a resident in the townhouse complex, said she woke up to the sound of sirens and flashing lights.
She said she saw two people, a man and a woman, led out of the house in handcuffs.
Two people have been charged with failing to provide the necessities of life in connection with the death.
