TORONTO — Lainie Kristina had the time of her life watching son Charlie dance along to Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in Dirty Dancing — so she decided to post a video of his moves on Facebook.
Roughly two weeks later, it’s been shared nearly 300,000 times and viewed by millions around the world.
“I thought it was crazy that 20 + people I did not know had shared it,” Charlie’s mom wrote on Facebook on Oct. 11, a week after posting the video. “Absolutely insane.”
The eight-year-old boy almost perfectly mimics Swayze’s dancing in the iconic scene from the 1987 movie.
His mom has said Charlie never took dance lessons but has always been fascinated with the dancing he sees on television.
Now that he’s a viral sensation, offers to appear on TV talk shows are pouring in.
All he needs now is a young dance partner.
But remember: Nobody puts Charlie in a corner.
