WINNIPEG – Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey are teaming up for a The Who Hits 50 tour that will play Winnipeg on Oct. 8, 2015.

“This is the beginning of the long goodbye,” Daltrey said about the upcoming tour.

Townshend, Daltrey, Keith Moon and John Entwistle – the latter two died drug-related deaths – formed the seminal band in 1964. They played generation-defining music and lived a rock-and-roll lifestyle that in many ways defined the period, with the song My Generation becoming a youth anthem.

The Who Hits 50 tour starts in Florida on April 15, 2015. Tickets for the Winnipeg show go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 17.
