VANCOUVER – A number of roads are still blocked off in Langley while crews battle a huge fire on 47 Avenue and 236 Street.
It broke out early this morning at a chicken barn.
The barn has been destroyed but the manager says luckily there were no chickens inside at the time. They had removed all the birds about a week ago and were expecting more in the coming weeks.
A thick plume of smoke can be seen for blocks and while the fire is not affecting the morning commute, smoke is visible to drivers in the area.
Neighbours tell Global News they heard a few explosions when the fire broke out and think that may have come from the workshop attached to the barn.
