“This is a big deal,” said Marc Lieberman, president and founder of Mink Chocolates. “It’s a validation that you can stand up with all of the big players, all of the creative people, and there are lots of them out there, and really make something that speaks to the quality, to a wide range of taste profiles, and people’s opinions that sort of thing.”
“But really it’s a big deal, it’s the biggest thing that I had an opportunity to participate in.”
There were fourteen judges in total whose job it was to rank the chocolate bars.
Mermaid’s Choice is a blend of burnt caramel, fleur de sel and a hint of rosemary. It is 70 per cent cacao and is about the size of an iPod. It retails for $6.25 and contains 200 calories.
Mink Chocolates is located at 863 West Hastings and also in South Surrey at Morgan Crossing, 15775 Croydon Drive.
