TORONTO — Country superstar Carrie Underwood and her Canadian husband, hockey player Mike Fisher, announced Monday they are expecting.
Underwood posted a photo of herself on Instagram with the couple’s dogs wearing sweaters that read “I’m going to be a big brother” and “I’m going to be a big sister.”
She wrote: “In honor of ‘Labor’ Day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn’t be happier…”
Fisher tweeted: “We haven’t picked names yet but it’s looking like Fly is gonna fly.”
Underwood, 31, and Fisher, 34, were married in July 2010.
It will be the first child for the couple, who met at one of Underwood’s concerts in Ottawa — at the same arena where Fisher played for the Ottawa Senators.
They built a home only minutes west of the venue but sold it after Fisher was traded to the Nashville Predators.
Fisher was born and raised in Peterborough, Ont.
