Police investigate sexual assault in Coral Springs

Calgary police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in our city overnight.

At approximately 8 a.m. Monday morning, police were called to a convenience store in Coral Springs for reports of a woman in distress.

Investigators believe the woman was assaulted several hours earlier as she was walking home, but the crime scene has not been located.

The woman says she was approached by two men and that one of the men struck her in the face before sexually assaulting her.

She fled the scene and tried to flag down a motorist.

After reaching out to an employee at a local convenience store, she was transported to hospital and is currently being treated for her injuries.

Police are looking for two suspects. The first is believed to be 5’11” tall and 190 pounds, with short grey hair and blue eyes. He was wearing blue jeans, a blue jean jacket and white running shoes.

A second suspect is described as wearing a long braid, with black jeans and a black, half-zipped hoodie

Police are asking for two motorists who may have seen the woman, as well as anyone else who may have information on the incident to contact them.
