WATCH: Giant Panda opens his birthday gift at the Toronto zoo.
The Toronto zoo’s biggest attraction was getting all of the attention today, celebrating his sixth birthday.
Da Mao, one of two pandas on loan to the Toronto Zoo from China, blew out the candles to mark another year. Not literally, of course. He’s a panda…
But he did get some birthday gifts and managed to unwrap them all on his own. Among those gifts, a cake made entirely out of bamboo.
Monday marks Da Mao’s second birthday in Canada. He and fellow giant panda Er Shun are expected to remain at the Toronto Zoo until 2018.
That time frame could be extended if Er Shun gives birth to a panda cub.
