WATCH: Palestinians celebrate in streets of Gaza after learning of cease-fire

Palestinians celebrated in the streets of Gaza and the West Bank Tuesday night after Israel and Palestinian factions reached a long-term ceasefire agreement.

The Egyptian-brokered ceasefire comes more than 50 days since the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) began military operations against Hamas.

The fighting led to deaths of over 2,000 Palestinians according to officials, while six Israeli civilians and 64 Israel soldiers were killed in the seven weeks of conflict.

According to the ceasefire, Israel has agreed to end its airstrikes against targets in the Gaza Strip, and halt all other military action. Hamas and the Islamic Jihad have said they will stop firing rockets into Israel.
