Two men charged after cocaine seized in Fort McMurray

EDMONTON – Two men have been arrested and charged with trafficking following an ALERT investigation in Fort McMurray.

On August 15, the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) in Wood Buffalo and RCMP members executed two search warrants in the Timberlea area.

Inside the homes, investigators seized nearly $40,000 worth of cocaine, nearly $30,000 in cash proceeds of crime, and evidence to support drug trafficking.

Chuol Both Chuol, a 19-year-old man from Edmonton, and Allen Bryson, a 43-year-old man from Fort McMurray were arrested.

Both men are facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

The investigation began because of community concerns about drug activity in the area.

Last year ALERT seized over $1 million worth of drugs in the Wood Buffalo region, and laid more than 200 criminal charges against 58 people.
