UPDATE: RCMP in Penticton have now identified the man found deceased yesterday on the side of the road.  Police say the body is that of 28-year old Scott Michaud of Penticton.  Michaud was found in the 3900 block of Skaha Lake Road at 4:30a.m. on Tuesday.  RCMP say Michaud’s injuries are consistent with having been struck by a vehicle.  Police are now seeking to identify a man driving a light colored late 1990, early 2000 model domestic minivan who had driven up to the scene and spoke to witnesses but drove away before police arrived.

UPDATE: RCMP believes this may have been a hit and run, but say this still needs further investigation. They say bodies aren’t normally found on the side of the road like how this man’s was after a hit and run, and there are no evidence of skid marks or vehicle debris. Foul play has not been ruled out. Penticton’s serious crimes unit has taken over the investigation.
