Canadian Jennifer Abel takes diving silver at Commonwealth Games

GLASGOW – Canadian diver Jennifer Abel won a silver medal on Saturday in the women’s three-metre springboard event at the Commonwealth Games.

Abel, from Laval, Que., accumulated 324.70 points for second place. Australia’s Esther Qin won gold with 347.25 while England’s Hannah Starling took bronze with 316.95.

Pamela Ware of Beloeil, Que., was sixth.

Abel’s silver was her third medal in Glasgow. She won gold in the women’s one-metre springboard event on Friday, and silver in the three-metre springboard with Ware earlier in the Games.
