Family of 14 gets the keys to their Habitat for Humanity home

TORONTO – The Costa family got the keys to their home Thursday afternoon after the finishing touches were put on it by Habitat for Humanity.

The family of 14 is the latest recipient of a home from Habitat for Humanity, which the family and volunteers are tasked to build.

The 3,300-square-foot, seven-bedroom and four-bathroom home is near Jane Street and St. Clair Avenue in Toronto.

The family donated close to 500 hours of what the non-profit organization calls “sweat equity.”

Dozens of Global News employees too donated their time to build the home for the Costa family.
