TORONTO – Here’s a reason to take lightning safety seriously.
Despite inclement weather, a couple opted to venture out into the water in Mexico. However, they got much more than they bargained for.
Before heading into the water, they decided to take a selfie. As they pose in front of the video, a flash can be seen and heard just behind them in the trees.

Fortunately, the couple appear to be unhurt.
Each year in Canada lightning kills about 10 people and injures another 100 to 150.
