Woman beaten by police officer in video posted online has medical records, clothing seized

LOS ANGELES – An attorney says California Highway Patrol investigators have seized medical records of a woman seen on video being repeatedly punched by one of the agency’s officers on the side of a Los Angeles freeway.

Chris Arevalo, executive administrator for psychiatric services at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, confirmed Wednesday that the CHP had served a search warrant on Tuesday.

Attorney Caree Harper, who represents 51-year-old Marlene Pinnock, says investigators also took clothing from the July 1 incident.

CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow couldn’t confirm the seizure but says the agency isn’t trying to make the issue about Pinnock.
