One of the summer’s most anticipated music festivals is back in Pemberton today for the first time in six years.
The Pemberton music festival kicks off this evening at 5 p.m. with Ruckus Deluxe.
40,000 people attended the last event in July 2008, but organizers cancelled the festival in subsequent years because of what they say was a lengthy permit process with the agricultural commission.
An unrelated promoter has now pumped $18 million worth of infrastructure into the region for this year’s event.
25,000 people are expected to attended the five day festival being headlined by Outkast and Nine Inch Nails.
