UPDATE: Police confirm that a Chevy Malibu heading north crossed the center line of Highway 97 crashing head on into a five ton truck. According to an RCMP crash analyst the three occupants of the car were killed instantly.The victims are an 82-year-old man, 79-year-old woman and 14-year-old boy. Their names have not been released. Three others were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Highway 97 in Lake country has since been re-opened.
LAKE COUNTRY — RCMP are dealing with a serious crash on Highway 97 in Lake Country.
They say it’s a multi-vehicle collision near Duck Lake and that the Highway is closed in both directions.
Traffic is being diverted at Airport Road and Beaver Lake Road.
Police say the highway will be closed for several hours.
