GALLERY: Glorious photos of Saturday night’s “supermoon” across BC

Super Moon shots taken from our deck in Genelle, BC (halfway between Trail and Castlegar) on their 45th wedding anniversary by Linda and Wayne Zino.

Professional and amateur photographers alike could not resist snapping some pics of Saturday night’s “supermoon”.

The occurrence happens when the moon gets 31,000 miles closer to the Earth, making it roughly 15 per cent bigger and nearly a third brighter. Although the phenomenon isn’t as rare as we’d like to believe, it doesn’t mean there’s not a bunch of spectacular photos waiting to be shared.

The photos in the slideshow below were submitted by Global News viewers.
