RCMP Inspector Tim Shields has been named in a civil lawsuit by a former senior communications officer.
Anitra Singh alleges in a notice of civil claim filed July 10, that between 2009 and 2011, Shields sexually harassed and assaulted her both physically and verbally.
Singh claims since leaving the RCMP on sick leave in 2012, she has suffered post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and continues to receive medical care.
Last August, a civil suit was launched against Shields and several other RCMP members by a former civilian member of the RCMP, Atoya Montague.
Montague alleges that she was sexually harassed by several officers beginning in 2003 until she left the force on sick leave in 2011.
An RCMP investigation into the Montague allegations against Shields determined there was no evidence to support the claims.
A source told Global News that the RCMP is planning to launch a statement of defense in the Montague case by the end of the week.
RCMP referred Global News to their 2013 statement on the Montague allegations when asked to comment on the Singh civil lawsuit.
