People are advised to avoid strenuous outdoor activity in the mid-afternoon, when ozone levels are highest. Exposure is of particular concern for infants, the elderly and people with underlying medical conditions. Anyone experiencing symptoms such as chest discomfort, shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing is asked to follow the advice of his/her health care provider and stay indoors in air conditioning.

The advisory is expected to continue until there is a change in the current weather.
