HALIFAX – Police in Halifax say a man came upon a bag containing $13,000 in cash on the side of a road and returned it to its owner.
A 28-year-old man reported Thursday that he lost the money after the bag fell out of his vehicle while he was driving on Herring Cove Road.
Police say the man was on his way to buy a tractor at the time.
While an officer was taking his report of lost property, a Good Samaritan went to the Spryfield Community Office and returned the bag with all of the money inside.
Halifax police say since January 2014, there have been 38 reports of people turning valuables including cash and credit cards over to them after finding them in the city.
