VERNON – RCMP members were out on boat patrol Monday, educating boaters about safety and making sure they are following the rules.
There’s good reason for the routine enforcement; a teen was seriously injured over the weekend in a tubing accident.

RCMP said Monday that the boy, who was struck by a boat Saturday evening on Okanagan Lake, remains in critical condition.
It happened after the teen fell off a tube.
According to police, the boat circled back but ended up running him over.
RCMP say he was struck by the propeller and suffered life threatening injuries to his head, arms and legs.
Police say the investigation is ongoing but they’ve ruled out alcohol as a factor.
