GM stopping sales of some Chevrolet Cruze models over airbag glitch

TORONTO – According to multiple reports, General Motors is stopping sales of some 2013-2014 Chevrolet Cruze models in Canada and the United States over an airbag glitch.

The models in question may have a problem with the driver’s side airbag inflator module.

GM spokesperson James Cain tells NBC affiliate WFMJ that they “are working diligently with the supplier of the defective part to identify specific vehicles affected.”

Cain says they expect to resume deliveries by the end of the week once they identify affected vehicles.

The Chevrolet Cruze is one of GM’s best-selling cars.

GM has issued a total of 44 recalls this year, covering more than 20 million vehicles worldwide.
