Communities across Calgary will be marking the first anniversary of the 2013 June floods with BBQs, block parties and community cleanups.

Neighbour Day on Saturday, June 21, celebrates the spirit of Calgary during the floods and the cleanup.

“We’ve had a tough year,” says Mayor Naheed Nenshi. “But it’s also been a year of triumph as we showed the world who we are and how we help each other.”
