TORONTO — Relax, girls. Ryan Gosling might still want to have a baby with you.
Nearly a million people were apparently fooled Sunday by a fake Facebook message claiming Gosling was temporarily a proud papa.
“This father’s day, I’ve decided to tell the story of how I became a father,” reads a post on the Facebook page.
The phony Gosling explained he became a dad to a nine-month-old boy when the baby’s mother died of cancer.
“I promised her, I’d always look after him.”
The fake Gosling said the boy’s biological father fought for custody and won. But, he added, “that 1 year of being his father taught me how to love unconditionally.”
The post, which included a photo of a beaming Gosling holding a baby, got more than 934,000 “likes” within hours.
Most appeared not to realize the page has nothing to do with the real Gosling.
Dozens of comments were posted, including “Makes me love him even more” and “Well my ovaries just exploded.”
One person noted: “Imagine how pissed off you would be if you got to adolescence and realised that your dad could have been Ryan Gosling.”
