KELOWNA, B.C. – A local charity that helps the homeless is looking for community participation in a fundraising event this weekend.

The event is named after a homeless man who helped organize the event before his untimely death in February 2012.

The funds raised will help renovate a new permanent residence for homeless men at 1829 Chandler Street in Kelowna.

On Saturday, June 14th, participants of the Push to End Homelessness will decorate shopping carts at 1157 Sutherland Avenue and make their way on a scavenger hunt to Kerry Park.

Teams are encouraged to raise $1,000, which sponsors one person supported by Inn from the Cold for a month and a half stay at the shelter.
