WINNIPEG – People seeking help for addictions now have another place to go.
The province is set to open River Point Centre on Magnus Avenue in the coming weeks.
The 85,000-square-foot facility will have 30 housing units that will serve as a temporary home for people recovering from addictions.
The Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, the Main Street Project and the Behavioural Health Foundation will work out of the building.
The 70-bed facility cost $28.5 million.
The province hopes to help as many as 2,000 people annually with treatment at the centre.
