Progressive Conservatives: Todd Smith
NDP: Merrill Stewart
Green: Anita Payne

Geography

A narrow riding stretching north from Lake Ontario, this riding includes all of Prince Edward County and most of Hastings, excluding Trenton. It goes as far north along Highway 62 and 127 to the outskirts of Barry’s Bay.

History

The Tories took this riding away from the Liberals last election, with Todd Smith defeating cabinet minister Leona Dombrowsky by over 3000 votes. The Liberals had held the riding since 1999, when it was created from parts of Prince Edward-Lennox and Quinte.

Old and English: The median age of 45 is third highest in southern Ontario, while English is the first language of 92.8% of people, also third highest in south Ontario.
