EDMONTON – The 2014 Memorial Cup in underway in London, Ontario, where the Edmonton Oil Kings are representing the Western Hockey League (WHL).
The Oil Kings played their first game of the tournament Saturday against the Guelph Storm. The game ended in a 5-2 loss for the Oil Kings.
Edmonton bounced back Sunday night with a 5-2 win against the host London Knights.

The Oil Kings played their final game of the round robin Tuesday night against the QMJHL champion Val-d’Or Foreurs. Sixty minutes wasn’t enough to decide the game. The game went into double overtime, with the Foreurs coming out victorious with a 4-3 win.

Ahead of Friday’s semifinal game against the Foreurs, the Oil Kings’ took to the ice for practice Thursday.

Curtis Lazar scored in triple overtime for the Edmonton Oil Kings in a 4-3 win over the Val-d’Or Foreurs in Friday’s Memorial Cup semifinal.
The Oil Kings will meet the unbeaten Guelph Storm in Sunday’s championship game.
