History

In a battle of Toronto councillors, Doug Holyday – who was mayor of Etobicoke prior to amalgamation – defeated Liberal Peter Milczyn by roughly 1,500 votes in a 2013 by-election. All three candidates from the main parties are set to rematch this time around. Prior to Holyday’s victory, the riding had been held by the governing party since 1990. Infamous NHL agent Alan Eagleson held this riding for the Tories from 1963 to 1967 when it was known as Lakeshore.
