TORONTO – Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly officially proclaimed May 12 as Raptors Day Monday.
The NBA team finished with a franchise record 48 victories and made the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
Although Toronto lost to the Brooklyn Nets in the 1st round of the playoffs, the team revived its fan base with a strong seven game post-season performance coupled by the “We The North” marketing campaign.
The Raptors will celebrate their 20th season in the league next year and host the NBA All-Star Game in 2016.
