For Star Wars fans, there has been a lot of speculation about what direction the series will take ever since Disney announced in October 2012 that it would buy Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion and resume making “Star Wars” movies, starting with Episode 7 in 2015. VANCOUVER – A woman wearing a Darth Vader mask was arrested on Tuesday following an early morning robbery.

Police say at around 6:30 a.m. a 23-year-old woman was walking down Wolf Avenue near Oak Street in Vancouver, when she was robbed by another woman in a Darth Vader mask carrying a handgun.

The masked robber pointed the gun at the woman and demanded her money. After receiving a small amount of money the suspect then ran off.

Police were able to track her down easily, only a short distance away, because she was still wearing the Darth Vader mask. The woman was searched and was found to be in possession of a replica firearm.

The victim was not injured in this incident.

Police say they will be requesting charges for robbery with a firearm and weapons offences against the 20-year-old suspect.

“Unfortunately for this robber, she underestimated the power of the Force,” said VPD spokesperson, Sgt. Randy Fincham. “We are always a phone call away by dialing 9-1-1.”
