VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Island Major Crime Unit has taken over an investigation after two bodies were found in different locations in Saanich, and police say it appears the deaths are related.

About one hour later a man’s body was found in the water off Cattle Point in Oak Bay, about two-and-a-half kilometres away from the home.

Police are not releasing many more details at this time.

“It’s very preliminary in our investigation, however investigators have indicated that they do believe the two deaths appear to be linked,” said Sgt. Steve Eassie with the Saanich Police. “However at this point we can’t say definitively that the two were known to one another. The identity of both individuals have yet to be fully determined at this point.”
