RCMP receiving tips on former Mountie facing sexual assault charges

SASKATOON – Saskatchewan RCMP say they’ve been receiving tips via a national toll-free line regarding a former Mountie accused of sexual assault.

Officials have confirmed that calls regarding Alan John Davidson, 58, have been received but cannot disclose how many or where in Saskatchewan the calls have come from.

The former RCMP officer was arrested last month in Calgary, Alta.

Davidson is facing eight counts of assault from when he coached baseball and hockey in B.C.

He also worked in several Saskatchewan communities as an RCMP member and coached in each location.

  • August 1981 – February 1982 – Regina
  • February 1982 – December 1983 – Coronach, Sask.
  • December 1983 – April 1986 – Lloydminster, Alta.
  • April 1986 – August 1993 – Yorkton, Sask.
  • August 1993 – 1996 – North Battleford, Sask.
  • August 1996 – present – Alta.
