Daniel Sedin injured during final game of Canucks’ season

Daniel Sedin was taken off the ice on a stretcher during the final game of the Vancouver Canucks’ season against the Calgary Flames.

Sedin took a hit from Calgary centre Paul Byron during second period and witnesses at the game said he fell to the ice and was not moving.

Global BC’s sports anchor Shanel Pratap said only Sedin’s fingers were moving after the hit.

He was stretchered away and taken to the hospital, but his condition is not known.

Sedin’s brother, Henrik, was absent from the bench after the hit.

Following the game, Canucks coach John Tortorella said he believes Sedin is “ok.”

The Canucks beat the Flames 5-1.
