Dellen Millard charged with murder of missing woman, father

Watch above: Police already charged Dellen Millard with Tim Bosma’s death, but now accuse him of killing his former girlfriend and his father. Mike Drolet reports.

TORONTO – Dellen Millard, the man charged with the murder of Tim Bosma, has been charged with the murder of Laura Babcock and Millard’s father, Wayne Millard.

Babcock went missing in July 2012 and, according to her friends, had been in a relationship with Millard prior to her disappearance.

Mark Smich, who was also charged with Bosma’s murder, was charged along with Millard Thursday in connection to Babcock’s murder.

Toronto Police conducted a two-day search of a farm Millard owned near Waterloo in September but had not announced any new findings.

Toronto Police Staff Inspector Greg McLane did not say during Thursday’s press conference whether they’ve found Babcock’s body. The multi-jurisdictional investigation’s ongoing.

Millard bought the farm just outside of Ayr, Ontario for $835,000 in 2011. The piece of land is located on Roseville Road and backs onto Highway 401. The real estate agent who brokered the deal with Millard said it was mostly empty.

But police found an incinerator on the property while investigating Bosma’s disappearance.

At the time of his arrest, Millard was CEO of his family business – MillardAir Ltd. – which was founded in 1963 by his grandfather, Carl Millard, and then operated by Dellen’s father until his death.

Wayne Millard, Dellen’s father, died in November 2012. Police had originally deemed it a suicide but reopened the investigation after Dellen’s arrest.

Millard is awaiting trial in connection to the death of Tim Bosma, a Hamilton man who disappeared from outside of his home in May, 2013 after taking two men on a test drive.

A third person, 21-year-old Christina Noudga, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder in relation to Bosma’s death. She appeared in a Hamilton court Thursday morning.

A multi-jurisdictional investigation between the Toronto Police, Hamilton Police and the Ontario Provincial Police was launched in May into all three deaths.
