One person has died in a collision between a transit bus and a car this afternoon.
Vancouver Police say the collision occurred at about 12:45 p.m. on East Broadway near St. Catherines Street.
The driver of the mini van, and only occupant, was declared dead at the scene. No details are being released regarding their identity at this time.
Five passengers on the bus were sent to hospital, but the driver of the bus was not injured.
Vancouver Police confirmed Tuesday night that the van was stolen around 11 a.m. from Metrotown. Early indications show the van was travelling west when it collided head-on with the transit bus in the eastbound lanes of Broadway as the bus slowed down for the stop at St. Catherines.
Broadway has now re-opened between Fraser St. and Clark Drive.
