Hélène David wins Liberal seat in Outremont

Hélène David has kept the Montreal riding of Outremont Liberal.

David won 62.2 per cent of the vote in early results, crushing PQ candidate Roxanne Gendron, who only won 17.8 per cent.

The rookie MNA is the sister of Quebec Solidaire leader Françoise David. Hélène David has a PhD in clinical psychology and was vice rector for international relations for La Francophonie and Institutional Partnerships at the Université de Montréal.

Outremont was previously held by Liberal leader Philippe Couillard, who won the riding in a by-election but switched to Roberval in this election. Outremont has been Liberal since its creation in 1966.
