Canadian soldier charged with sexual assault, voyeurism

WATCH: (Apr. 4, 2014) An investigation is underway into the conduct of a soldier at CFB Petawawa. Corp. Derrick Gallagher has been charged with several counts of sexual assault, and police believe there could be more victims out there. Vassy Kapelos reports.

TORONTO – Corporal Derrick Gallagher, a member of the Canadian Forces stationed in Petawawa, has been charged with eight counts of sexual assault and two counts of voyeurism.

Gallagher, 31, was arrested Monday by the Ontario Provincial Police. He was scheduled to appear in a Pembroke court Friday but had his case put over until April 10. He remains in custody.

Police have yet to release any details of what led to the charges.

The police are still investigating and are looking to speak with any woman close to him.

They’ve also released photos of tattoos he has on his shoulders in hopes it will help people identify him.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the OPP.
