The current attendance record was set in Edmonton in 2005 with 10,331 fans.
That matchup was also between Saskatchewan and Alberta. The game went into overtime with the Golden Bears winning 4-3.
The Huskies have won the University Cup only once – in 1983 in Moncton, N.B.
There’s a special admission price available for University of Saskatchewan students Sunday and it’s also buy one get one free.
Tickets are being sold for $20 for those who show student cards and an additional free ticket can be picked up at the CUC box office.
Hockey fans are encouraged to where green as they cheer on the 2014 CIS men’s hockey champion to victory.
The puck drops at 1:30 p.m. at Credit Union Centre.
