Search expands for 19-year-old Langley man missing more than 2 weeks

Searchers combed the trails in the Derby Reach area of Langley Saturday looking for any sign of 19-year-old Nicholas Hannon, who has been missing for more than two weeks.

Hannon’s family has offered a $10,000 reward and have even hired a dog tracker to look for signs of the young man.

This weekend, search and rescue teams and the RCMP have fanned out across the park where Hannon’s car was found abandoned.

Hannon’s father says he doesn’t believe his son drove there and wouldn’t leave his car abandoned by the gate to the trails.

“I don’t think he’s here. I think someone dropped the car and someone has him,” Hannon’s father, Craig, said. “I highly doubt he’s here, but we have to do our due diligence and check everything close to the scene.”

Hannon says his son is quiet and is close with his siblings.  He is described as happy, with no criminal record and no problems with depression.

All Hannon had on him when he went missing was some cash and his driver’s licence.

His father says he isn’t giving up hope.

“I call his phone every night and leave a message,” he said. “Tell him I love him, and I just hope he gets it.”
