TORONTO – Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Southern Ontario, including the Greater Toronto Area, due to snow and blowing snow to hit the region on Wednesday.
The weather service says a low pressure system coming from Kansas will make its way south of the Lower Great Lakes and generate snow across Ontario from north of Lake Erie to the Niagara region.
Current information suggest the GTA will receive a between five to 15 centimetres of snow.

Motorists are being advised to exercise caution when travelling or commuting due to poor visibilities in snow and blowing snow.
Wednesday’s high is expected to be -7 degrees Celsius with an evening low of -15.
Meanwhile, winter storm warnings are in effect from Kingston to Cornwall, where up to 15 centimetres are predicted in some places.
A winter storm watch is in place for Windsor to Dunnville region, with a slight risk of freezing rain for the area.
