New allegations surface on Rob Ford’s friend Sandro Lisi

TORONTO – Mayor Rob Ford‘s friend and occasional driver Sandro Lisi has a long history of threatening women, according to newly-obtained court documents.

The allegations stem from a Toronto Star report which also says that police believe Lisi recorded his interactions with Ford over the past year.

The relationship between Ford and Lisi has been a key component into the months-long Project Brazen 2 investigation.

Lisi was arrested on extortion charges last year after being accused of using threats to obtain a video of Mayor Ford smoking what might be crack cocaine.

Court documents released last month revealed that an investigation into Lisi continued a month after his arrest as police requested search warrants for seven more cell phones and one computer seized during the Project Traveller drug and gun arrests in June.

Lawyers for the newspaper as well as other Toronto media outlets will be in front of a judge today seeking access to the content from Lisi’s smartphone and other personal devices.

Meanwhile, six men accused in the Project Traveller police investigation will appear in court today.

Last june dozens of officers conducted a series of raids in the west end of the city.
