The family of a missing Abbotsford man is holding a candle light vigil tonight, hoping it will jog someone’s memory and help solve the mystery of his disappearance.
Fifty-seven-year-old Wesley Foulds was last seen five years ago when he left for a doctor’s appointment in Burnaby.
He left his Abbotsford home in his red, 2007 Dodge pick-up truck, which was subsequently located in the parking lot of the Hayward Recreation Area north of Mission.
Foulds’ sister Jamie Weinberger says two years later, a woman came forward, saying she saw Wesley driving on Lougheed Highway with a passenger in his truck. But, the investigation is still active, and the family is baffled looking for answers.
She says her brother’s disappearance is completely out of character.
“Wesley was a very loving, nurturing and caring man. He was a home care worker. He worked with a handicapped gentleman for 10 years. They were almost like brothers, the way they treated each other. Wes would not just walk away from that…It just does not make any sense.”
Weinberger says they are holding the vigil tonight in hopes someone else will come forward with any information.
“Even if you think you saw it, phone the police. Even if you are not 100 per cent sure, because they can figure it out,” she says. “They always say, there is one in a million, well I am hoping I can find that one.”
The vigil will be held at the Hayward Lake Recreation Area in Mission from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight.
