TORONTO — The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus and Oscar-nominated actor Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond) are heading to B.C. to make a sci fi thriller.
The two have signed on for Air, a feature film which is scheduled to be shot in Vancouver from March 24 to April 18.
The movie, previously titled Wake Cycle, was co-written by video game designer Christian Cantamessa and Chris Pasetto. The former will make his feature directorial debut with Air.
Reedus and Hounsou play custodial workers in an underground cryogenic facility charged with maintaining that tanks used to preserve the world’s top scientists following a nuclear fallout. When one of their air tanks is damaged, they turn on each other as they fight to survive.
Reedus, 45, plays Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead. He previously worked in Canada on 1999’s The Boondock Saints and its 2009 sequel.
Hounsou, 49, is wrapping up work on Fast & Furious 7.
